    “gROWING up on the Grand” is a joint initiative that was formed between the Cambridge Rowing Club and Kitchener Waterloo Rowing Club to ensure youth within the Waterloo Region develop an interest in the sport of rowing. The Region of Waterloo and both rowing clubs will benefit by offering diversified programs for rowers of all ages. We are searching for our Regional Coach - the job description is here.

Fundraising

The Cambridge Rowing Club, over the years 2004 and 2005, was actively raising funds toward the completion of the boathouse addition and the expansion of youth rowing programs.  The addition was completed in November 2005 and we are taking a break from large-scale fundraising. The youth programs are in the process of expansion 2006-2007.  See the Programs page for details.

We had many small donations from members and friends of members.  Our list of major corporate donations can be found here. We are very grateful for the support of these individuals and groups. To see your donations at work, please contact the club and arrange to meet a member of the executive and tour the facility. We may even take you for a ride on the water.

The golf tournament in 2005 was a major part of the fundraising. We expect to run the golf tournament again in 2007 as part of the ongoing support of rowing for youth in Cambridge and the broader Waterloo Region. Look to the web page for dates or contact the club for more information.

It is always possible to donate to the work of the Cambridge Rowing Club. A tax receipt for your donation can be arranged.  Please contact us if you are interested in supporting our work in the community.
